Now it’s your turn to ask the questions

Timothy Magaw I Daily Kent Stater

A lot of work goes into putting out the paper each day. From 3 p.m. until our midnight deadline (or even later, especially if Prentice catches on fire again), the newsroom is a hub of activity. This may not seem like a big deal to the thousands of students who pick up the Stater on their way to class, but we do a lot of work each evening to make sure you’re able to complete a Sudoku puzzle during class or see if your friends made it into the police blotter.

In today’s Stater, I explained my goals for the semester. I told you what’s on my mind, and now it’s your turn to tell me what’s on yours.

I’ve always felt that a lot of students don’t really “get” what we do here. That’s something I want to fix. I’m not interested spelling out our production schedule from start to finish (I wouldn’t put you through that). But if you have a question, let me know. I’ll post some of your questions right here along with my answer.

As journalists, we always demand transparency from people we’re covering. So, our readers should expect the same from us. Wondering why we ran a certain photo? A certain headline? Covered one event but not another? Just let me know.
